The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are now official. The iPhone 6s has 3D Touch, a pressure-sensitive display. This will allow users to navigate and experience their iPhone by sensing pressure to enable new gestures, Peek  and Pop.

The iPhone 6s has 4.7-inch display just like the iPhone 6. The iPhone is powered by a 64-bit A9 processor, which is said to be 70% faster at CPU tasks and 90% faster at GPU tasks.

The iPhone 6s is equipped with a 12-megapixel rear camera which is capable of recording 4K video and has an improved autofocus. It is also equipped with a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies.  The iPhone 6s also comes with a new feature called Live Photos. This feature allows users capture a short clip of video alongside every photo that they take.

iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be available in gold, silver, space gray and the new rose gold metallic finishes for $0 down with 24 monthly payments starting at $27 (US) and $31 (US), respectively, from Apple’s retail stores in the US, Apple.com, select carriers and Apple Authorized Resellers.

Exclusively at Apple’s retail stores in the US, customers can choose their carrier and get an unlocked iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus with the opportunity to get a new iPhone annually and AppleCare+ on the new iPhone Upgrade Program with monthly payments starting at $32 (US) and $37 (US), respectively.

The official iPhone 6s unveiling is still likely months away, but rumors about the handset has been spreading around the web. The iPhone 6s will be released in the second half of 2015 alongside with the iPhone 6S Plus and the iPhone 6C, according to a source from Digitimes. The site also stated that the iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus and iPhone 6C will be equipped with LTPS panels.

Among the rumored specs of the iPhone 6s are Corning Gorilla Glass display, LTPS panels, and A9 chips. the iPhone 6s will come equipped with NFC , fingerprint scanning technologies, improved camera and more RAM.

The iPhone 6s is also said to include Force Touch which was introduced on the Apple Watch. This feature might be beneficial to the extent that it opens up a wider array of controls and gesture commands across all types of apps.

Other specs expected on the iPhone 6s is better Touch ID performance. It provides a more seamless way for users to access their phone as well as adding more security so users can feel more save and secure in using the Apple Pay. Analyst Ming Chi Kuo indicated that Apple’s iPhone 6s models will include upgraded and more robust Touch ID sensors.

The iPhone 6s will be available in some colors like Grey, Silver, Gold and Pink. The Wall Street Journal reported not too long ago that pink may be introduced as a new color option for the iPhone 6s.
