Apple Watch Design and Features
Apple Watch Design and Features. Apple recently unveiled the Apple Watch, its first smartwatch. The watch was unveiled alongside the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO said “Apple introduced the world to several category-defining products, the Mac, iPod, iPhone and iPad,” “And once again Apple is poised to captivate the world with a revolutionary product that can enrich people’s lives. It’s the most personal product we’ve ever made.”
Jony Ive, Apple’s senior vice president of Design said “With Apple Watch, we’ve developed multiple technologies and an entirely new user interface specifically for a device that’s designed to be worn. It blurs the boundary between physical object and user interface,” “We’ve created an entire range of products that enable unparalleled personalization.”
The Apple Watch design has the Digital Crown which contains sensors that turn movement into data. It will be the main input method for the watch rather than the touchscreen display. Users can scroll, zoom and navigate by using the Digital Crown. It also acts as a Home button, and a way to access Siri. Apple said in a press release that the Digital Crown is Apple’s most revolutionary navigation tool since the iPod Click Wheel and iPhone Multi-Touch.
The Apple Watch design is water resistant so it will be fine if you get sweat or wear the smartwatch in the rain. It will be safe too when you wash your hand. However, it is not waterproof, which means that you cannot wear the watch while swimming or showering.
