Fitbit Flex: Review, Design and Tutorial

Fitibit Flex was released in May 2013, and has almost all the same sync functions as the Fitbit One and Zip. It tracks steps taken, distance traveled, calories burned, active minutes, hours slept and quality of sleep. It is a device that one wears on the wrist.

The flex a simple display of 5 LED lights which indicate the number of steps taken in a day, as well as battery level. The device vibrates to indicate that your goal has been reached.

Fitbit Flex works by tracking your activity and your sleep, sync your stats wirelessly so you can see real-time progress and make fitness fun. You can continue to wear it all night and it’ll measure your sleep quality. Your dashboard will reveal how long you slept and the number of times you woke up to help you learn how to sleep more soundly.

The flex will automatically syncs your data to PCs, Macs, many iOS devices and select Android phones without plugging in or pushing buttons allowing your to get real-time access to your stats. Flex uses five white LED indicator lights to show you how your day is stacking up against your goals.

The flex wristbands and accessory bands is available in several colors like black, slate, tangerine, teal, navy, violet, blue, lime, pink and red. It is the first tracker to offer Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity, so you see your stats in real-time. It is recommended to sync your data regularly. Syncing and uploading require use of the Fitbit Connect application.
