1. Choose the language

You need to choose the language before starting the set up. On the Welcome screen,you can select your preferred language and choose the accessibility settings. Next, tap on Start to start setting up your device.

2. Connecting to a Wi-Fi network

Next, you will need to choose the WiFi network and enable it. Please note that your new Samsung Galaxy S6 or Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge uses a non-harmonised frequency and is intended for use in all European countries. The WLAN can be operated in the EU without restriction indoors, but cannot be operated outdoors. You should turn off the Wi-Fi when not in use to save the battery.

Here is how to turn on the Wi-Fi feature:

  • On the Settings screen, tap Wi-Fi, and then tap the switch to activate it.
  • Select a network from the Wi-Fi networks list. Networks that require a password appear with a lock icon.
  • Tap CONNECT. Once your Samsung Galaxy S6 or Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge connects to a Wi-Fi network, the device will reconnect to that network each time it is available without requiring a password. To prevent the device connecting to the network automatically, select it from the list of networks and tap FORGET.
    When you are done with choosing the WiFi network, tap on Start button to get to the next page.
  • 3. EULA and Diagnostic Data
    Now you will go to the EULA and Diagnostic Data page. Read it carefully and put a tick mark on “Yes” if you agree, and tick on “No thanks” if you disagree.

4. Sign in to Google account

Next, you will get to the “Got Google” page. if you have already got a google account you can tap “Yes”. if you don’t have a Google account , tap “No”. Create a new google account on “Create a new Google account” page.
If you have already got a google account, you can sign in and tap on the Next button to proceed to the next page. Now you will see Google’s terms or service and privacy policy. Read the terms of service and tap on the OK button to proceed.

You can let google to back up your data if you wish to, by ticking on the Backup and Restore check box. Tap on the Next button to proceed to the next page. Enter your name and tap on the Next button to continue.

5. Samsung account

Next, you will go to Samsung account page. This is an optional step so you can tap on the “Skip” button to get to the next page. However, if you want to have a Samsung account, you will have many access to enjoy Samsung services, Samsung apps, back up contacts, image and more.
If you have already got a Samsung account, you can tap on “Sign in”. If you don’t have a Samsung account, you can create a new Samsung account. Here is how to do it:

– On the Settings screen, tap Accounts → Add account.
– Select an account service.
– Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the account setup.

6. Back Up and Restore Data

You can choose to sign in with a Samsung account. All you have to do is to enter your account details (ID and password) and tap on the “Sign in” button. You can restore data from another phone using the same Samsung account. Also, you can choose the Auto backup on your device by ticking on the appropriate box. Tap on the Next button to get to the next page. If you choose to Back and restore your device, Tap on “OK” button to proceed.
Next, select your device model that you want to restore and backup. Your device model is written under the battery of your Samsung Galaxy S6. Then, tap OK.

On the Restore page, select the data that you want to be restored from the device that you chose from the previous step.Tap on Next to proceed.

7. Dropbox

This is an optional step so you can tap on the “Skip” button to get to the next page. However you can sign in with your Dropbox account. If you don’t have a dropbox account, you can create a new account by tapping on “Create account” button.

8. Thank you page

Now you will go to the Thank you page. Enter your device name to easily identify your device when using Bluetooth, WiFi Direct or tethering. You can tap on the Easy mode check box to start your device on Easy Mode. Tap Finish.

9. Connection optimizer page

Now you will enter the connection optimizer page. Tap on “I agree” to complete the setup.
