How to set up the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 for the First Time
1.Choose the language for your Galaxy Note 5
The first thing to do is to choose the language for your Galaxy Note 5. If you need accessibility features, you can turn it on.
The next thing to do is to choose the Wi Fi network and sign in. It is recommended to get a WiFi network for better set up, even if you have an active SIM in your phone. It will help you during the syncing data process.
3.User Licence Agreement
Next, you will go to User Licence Agreement page. If you agree, you can check the box. If you disagree, you can uncheck the box. Then, tap next.
4. TAP & GO, new feature in Android 5.0 Lollipop
Now you will enter TAP & GO page. This is a new feature in Android 5.0 Lollipop which allows you to transfer your account information from your old Android phone to your new Galaxy Note 5 via NFC and Bluetooth. You simply have to place your new Galaxy Note 5 back-to-back with your old Android phone.
This TAP & GO feature will help you to copy over the Google Account credentials from the old phone to your new Galaxy Note 5 so you don’t have to enter them manually. So, you don’t have to do the transfer manually.
5. Google Account
If you don’t have an old phone to transfer, you can simply skip the transfer process and move on to the standard Google Account setup. Enter your google account name. If you have more than one Google account, you can choose the account you usually use for google play and gmail.
6. Restore Apps
Now you will enter a new page, restore apps. This is new for android Lollipop handsets where you can restore apps and data from a specific device you have had connected to your Google Account.
You can tap “Restore from this backup” and select the phone you want to restore from. Then choose “Also include” to select which apps to restore from that phone.
If you don’t wish to do that, you can choose “Set up as new device” and select “Next.”
7. Set up a screen lock
Next, you can set up a screen lock on your phone but you can also do this later.
8. Google Service
Now you will go to google services page. There are two boxes to check. The first box is checked automatically, and is for backing up your information privately to Google’s servers. The second box is google location service and you can check it if your want.
9. Samsung Account
Now you will go to Samsung account page. A Samsung account secures your Galaxy Note 5 and gives you access to premium service. . If you have a Samsung Account you can sign in with your user name and password.
If you don’t have a Samsung account, you can create an account with your google id. Of course you can also create a new account with a new id.

You will then enter the terms and condition page. Check the box after you read the terms and agree.
11. Back up and Sync
Now you will go to Back up and Sync page. If you choose the Google’s backup service, you don’t have to check the box.
12. You can enter next if you wish to restore your back up data on your previous device.

KNOX helps lock down your sensitive data and separate it out from the rest of the phone. You can choose to install it or not.
